Fundraising Utrecht: Bake sale

Thursday, 21 December 2017

An improvised kitchen was set on the doorsteps of Unit 4’s Utrecht office to fry and sell the traditional Oliebollen. In The Netherlands, this sweet, puff pastry, round treat is a delicious New Year specialty, that our colleagues chose to fill with chocolate. Everyone had the chance to try them and many ordered boxes of five to take home. This proved to be a great opportunity to meet and donate  in the Season’s spirit.

Fundraising Portugal: Bingo lottery

Tuesday, 19 December 2017

A Bingo Lottery took place at the Lisbon office to celebrate Christmas and raise funds for the Foundation. Forty-eight cards were sold and a generous amount gathered, with plane tickets as prizes for the first four winning cards, courtesy of Unit4 Portugal.

Portuguese traditional Christmas cakes and hot chocolate contributed to the afternoon’s great success!

Fundraising UKI: Christmas hampers lottery

Thursday, 30 November 2017

The Foundation’s kick-off in Unit4’s UK and Irish offices was met with great enthusiasm. All seven ambassadors from across the region gathered an impressive amount of donated goods from very generous office colleagues, that summed up to eight hampers. These delicious treats were matched by U4UKI with a £100 Red Letter Day voucher for a unique experience of the winner’s choice. The lottery took place at the Christmas Party on the 30th November and was followed by another spirited initiative: on the following day, many went to the office wearing their Christmas jumpers and again, donating to the Foundation!

Fundraising Poland: blood donation

Friday, 3 November 2017

A blood donation was organized in the Wroclaw office to sign the Foundation’s kick-off in Poland. A great number of our very generous colleagues responded to the appeal, that was matched by U4 Poland with a donation to the Foundation. Several private donations were also collected and more initiatives are to be expected for the festive season ahead.

Fundraising Portugal: Basket lottery

The Unit 4 Cares Foundation was presented to everyone in the Lisbon office on October 31st. Our local ambassador, Sabrina Fialho, invited all to a sharing event where she was joined by an inspiring guest speaker, social entrepreneur Frederico Fezas Vital, founder of the Portuguese ONG Land of Dreams. He spoke about how a single act of willingness can contribute to change the world for the better and how each one of us, through our work, can impacts the lives of so many through our customers’ organizations. Towards the end of the event, we had a lottery of several hampers for which raffle tickets were sold and the proceedings donated to the Foundation.

First fundraiser: CEO carwash

Saturday 1 July 2017

The very first fundraiser for the Foundation was held at the Utrecht office on Saturday 1 July. Our CEO Stephan Sieber invited all colleagues residing in the Netherlands to make their way to the office so he could wash their car – in return for a donation to the Unit4 Cares Foundation.

The guests of honor were Charlotte van Brenk and her children; family of our former Benelux colleague Danny van Brenk, who sadly passed away March 2017 after battling cancer for three years. Throughout his illness, colleagues supported him in raising funds for his expensive treatment in the US that was at the time not available in the Netherlands and hence also not supported by the Dutch healthcare system. It was Danny and other similar cases that inspired us to create a Unit4 fund to support Unit4 colleagues and their families who are suffering from serious or terminal illnesses.

Now that the first fundraiser has taken place, we are joining forces with colleagues the world over so as a united team we make the Foundation something we can all be proud of.
